Let's Talk About Food Allergies

Did you know there are 8 food allergens that make up 90% of food allergic reactions? There are about 32 million people that have food allergies in the U.S. About 26 million (10.8%) U.S. adults have food allergies. About 5.6 million (7.6%) U.S. children have food allergies.  The 8 food allergens consist of the following:

1) Milk
2) Eggs
3) Fish (e.g., bass, flounder, cod)
4) Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp)
5) Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans)
6) Peanuts
7) Wheat
8) Soybeans

This week, as all of our products are nut free, we will focus on the three categories of allergies, in particular, Tree Nuts.  You will learn what are tree nuts, some products that contain tree nuts and symptoms of tree nuts allergies.
